The Committee are currently finalising the line-up for the 2020 Nailsworth Festival and most of  the events have been agreed. So here is a taster of what is to come. All Over for 2018

Just a short message from the Webmaster here …

Well, we are all done-and-dusted for 2018, apart from the John Furnival Exhibition which continues until mid-June. The festival committee will be meeting in a few weeks to review this year’s festival and formulate plans for next year, so, if you have any suggestions for events at future festivals, now is the time to put them forward at [email protected]

We expect the 2019 festival to take place in the week leading up to the late-May bank holiday weekend.

We were pleased to see so many people at this year’s festival events, especially on sunny Festival Saturday when there was the alternative attraction of a Royal Wedding taking place. There are pictures on our Gallery page.

Online booking for 2018 now open

Yes, we now have things in place to start accepting online bookings. We hope you find the process easy to navigate – we know how confusing online purchasing systems can be, so we have tried to keep it simple and very similar what people were accustomed to on the old version of the website.

Remember that we use the secure PayPal shopping cart for ticket sales – you do not share any financial information with the Nailsworth Festival when you book. You do not need a PayPal account to purchase tickets as major credit and debit cards are accepted by PayPal. Of course, if you do have a PayPal account, the checkout process will be much faster.

Booking for 2018 about to open

We are just putting the finishing touches to our online booking arrangements to allow booking to begin during Monday 9th April. (Not Tuesday 9th April as you may have read in the Nailsworth News!) Please don’t queue up to try booking at a minute past midnight – we are not that sort of organisation – but we are confident that we will be up and running at some point in the day. So, if you have found booking is not yet open, do try later in the day.

Liam Gallagher took to twitter recently to sing the praises of scouse Britpop originators The Real People. He was joined by Mikey Jonns of This Feeling, the NME and many others in enthusing about the bands perfectly crafted pop songs. Formed in 1987, The Real People were one of the first bands to play what would become known around the world as Britpop and were cited by Oasis as being a major influence. The band received critical acclaim and chart successes with singles “Window Pane”, “Truth”, “Open Up Your Mind (Let Me In)” and “Believer” and have also written for close friends Ocean Colour Scene, Rooster and BBMak.  Cher also achieved global success, selling over 6 million copies, with a cover of the band’s early song “One by One”.
